Deviance is simply any violation of society's norms, more formerly known as being different or sometimes weird. Deviance isn't always how a person looks or smells like, but it can often go from violating a simple traffic violation, to committing a crime or murder. Throughout many societies, deviance can be different because each society has its own set of rules or traditional value. For example when a white kid enters a rural part of town or a rich kid brags about his differences to somebody in a poor area that kid would be considered deviant because he is different than society. In my opinion, Deviance isn't necessarily a bad thing because being different doesn't always mean bad, but I think it is the time and place we are all at some point in time. In a short term, we have all been deviant in our own way. Often times when you watch a movie titled as scary or a horror movie, during that time you will often feel many feelings like your stomach dropping and your heart beat racing wondering what is going to happen next. Many of these feelings are commonly known as the word suspense. Suspense is a state of feeling excited or anxious about what may happen next. Many people across the world often love the feeling of suspense because it gives them a great feeling that makes them excited, scared sometimes, and frightened, and unlike others, many people as well do not like it because of the feeling of them being scared. Suspense can also be in many more things than besides movies or scary books and such, but it can be in everyday life. There is much suspense daily from sports to wars to news or an everyday test in school. Suspense gives you a great feeling in my opinion because it gives you the opportunity to think about things in a different way and outcome. Suspense truly opens your mind to many more possibilities of daily events which gives you a spark of excitement. A Vernacular is a language, dialect, or an accent spoken by a person in a certain country, state, or region. Vernaculars are often sometime considered native or of a different past time of that certain place or country. For example, us people in our area that grew up in northern places often call a soft drink pop. Like when we go to a restaurant we tell the server pop. Now most times down south, a soft drink to us or any drink in fact is normally called a soda or often a coke, whether it is a coke or any other soft drink. Vernaculars are often combined with accents or a certain dialect. If you ever meet a life time Texas resident or down south, (Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, etc.) they will often speak and sound much different than a person up north in our region. They almost will sound what we commonly know as how a cowboy would normally speak using words like howdy, yall, yeeha, and many more. In my opinion, I think it all dates back to past ancestry and where it all started at carrying there past accents up to modern times. In the past couple days of class we have learned many literature definitions from various topics and the one that I choose is Idioms. Idioms are a group of words that state something but are not meant to be taken seriously. Idioms are commonly used in everyday discussions usually in a group discussion, or between two people conversing about there day. For example, "That project today was a piece of cake". This idiom means that the project was easy and had no difficulty for that person. Now in the sentence, it is not meant to be taken literally because physically in the topic there was never any cake. There are billions of idioms that are used daily in conversations. In my opinion, idioms are fun and sometimes funny and they are things you can use to lighten up any conversation. Idioms have been used for centuries and will be for centuries to come. Idioms are commonly known as to people catch phrases and do not understand that they are not the same thing. Idioms are great and fun things to add into any daily conversations.
